4 week – zero waste – camping challenge

Basin Campsite

We have a prostate cancer to heal and a goal to get better at what inspires us – sustainably and practically reducing our environmental footprint.

Everywhere we look we’re dis-heartened when we see the unnecessary waste and pollution to which we all contribute.

So we’re leaving the city lights behind us and swapping tarmac for a dusty trail that leads to a better place. We’ll pitch a tent for an extended camp where we can reap the rewards of fresh air, fresh produce and a relaxed, stress-free life style. Living in harmony with nature we’ll come out the other end healthier and better informed with a zero waste tick for the project.

Green Rebels and Lovers: zero waste couple Kat and Phil

Hi there! We’re Kat and Phil, two crazy vegans from Sydney, Australia. We’re crazy in love with each other and the planet we’re lucky to be walking on.

We created this blog to share our journey towards a greener world and a happier and healthier life.

WHAT we’re doing

  • Camping in one place for a minimum of 4 weeks
  • Zero waste ➪ no plastic packaging of any sort, only things that can be used, reused, repurposed, or composted.
  • Solar panels for power
  • No fridge ➪ food will be consumed while fresh, dehydrated, or kept cool in the river
  • Vegan ➪ no meat, fish, dairy, eggs, or honey.
  • Fitness ➪ keeping fit outdoors with very little equipment.
  • Healing ➪ meditation, re-connection with nature, inner peace
